Why?

With any pastime there comes a moment when you have to set yourself new challenges to keep it interesting.

After seeing other people truly struggle to keep their 365 projects (i.e. a photograph of whatever every day for one year) going, I knew it wasn’t going to be something I could either keep up or enjoy. Hence after consulting my ever suffering spouse on my next project she came up with this idea:

“Take a picture of a bench once a week”.

I was a little taken aback but the more I thought about it the more it appealed. It is a way of combining my two most favourite forms of photography, landscape and portrait.

As I’ve always wanted to be a little different without rebelling too much, I decided to make this a fifty-three week project instead; it’s these little things that make me, and of course keep me, ever so interesting.

If you’re lucky I might even add a few words of wisdom to the picture.
